Nope. They can keep whatever you put up as collateral, including putting a lien on your property and in some states selling it; they can go to court and get a judgement against you, but they can’t jail you.
Work with them if you can; these are not good people to owe money to
you are stuck with the Bill… you won’t go to jail…arrangements can/will be made …how did you get the bond without putting up money or collateral?
That is not how it works.
No you can not go to jail if you can not repay this money.
We do not have “debtors prisons” in this country.
But you may have to learn how to walk all over again with a couple of busted Knee caps! - if you are lucky!
you need to help them find your family member, they have 180 days to do so before the money is owed to the court and yes the court can order you to pay the money if he is not found…you should do every thing in your power to help the bail bonds men find him/her good luck!!!
You wont have to serve for his crime however the bondsman will be a complete a**hole if they don’t get their money. They can eventually send it to creditors and screw up your credit and take you to court on that. The courts can order your paychecks be garnished in order to pay them back. Find your relative!!! If not you can try to work out a payment plan with the bondsmen they just want their money. Then when you do find your relative sue him for the money back!!
Yes. Pay the money immediately. Thats what you are there for as the one who signed for the bail bonding. You can still go to prison if the judge decides to send you there too. Find your relative and tell the police where to go to pick him up. He has shown you his true colors. He should be in jail. Let him rot.
Won’t send you to jail, but will seize your car, home, jewelry to pay for the fine! By signing for your relative, you signed as responsible party. Bills is yours!
They can’t put you in jail. If they don’t find them - you’ll lose whatever you put up.
no. they will be able to keep the bail money you put up.the only person that can be arrested is the one that bailed out of jail.if a bondsman threatens to put you in jail tell them they better have a warrant and they better show it first. they will not have a warrant because there is no such thing in this case.bondsmen try to use scare tactics and the other person lack of law knowledge
