what does this mean “Order Exonerating Bond/bail” It was listed under the courts list of things that were done

Need to know asked:

I was looking at someones court history. They are supposedly still in jail and never out on bail, but this “Order Exonerating Bond/bail” made me think they they are out, or were out and are back in jail now. What do you think it means?

It means the bail money has been released. Either the charges were dropped or the case has been resolved.

It means the purpose of the bail has been fulfilled and the money is returned. Usually when guilty party goes into custody to serve snetence, or when defendant is found not guilty.
