I’d let him sit. Maybe he’ll learn not to do stupid things (financially AND in general) with a baby on the way.

And yeah, I’d leave anyone who got a DUI personally so no I don’t think that’s unreasonable. Everyone has their limits.

Leave him there. If you can’t afford it, you just can’t afford it. You and you baby are more important than helping him get out of such a stupid move.

I don’t think you’re being too harsh, that’s a serious matter. Drinking and driving isn’t fun and he could’ve easily gotten himself killed or worse, killed another, then having to live with that on his shoulders his whole life. Plus, you’re pregnant. What if he was killed and his kid never knew him because of it? That would suck. So anyway, I don’t know about the bond stuff cuz I’m 16 and not up on the legal system (or lack thereof), but hey I hope he wisens up and you get matters set straight. Have a good’un.

If I were you, I would’nt do anything about trying to get the money to pay his bond - the reason he’s got this special bond is prob coz he’s failed to obey a bond agreement before, so the court don’t want to take another chance that he’ll do it again. He’s also been arrested for DUI which is a potentially dangerous offence - drunk drivers have been known to actually kill people. There’s also the possibility that, if they let him out, he’ll do the same thing again, possibly with fatal consequences ( he could have done this numerous times before). They are all reasons why he should not be released until his hearing. You don’t want the added stress now that youre pregnant!

Great……. he has put you in the position where you feel damned if you do and damned if you don’t.

There are a million reasons why they would not let you post bail. Maybe he has bonded before and not showed. It could be his record and priors. Or the nature of the stop and how he acted. It is something serious that is going to mess him up in court.

Maybe the judge will bail allow it after he sees him.

Your pregnant and if you don’t have the money you don’t have it. Say you borrow it and have to pay it back. I suspect though that you will need it later when he gets his license suspended. His fines will be huge, alchohol awareness classes will cost, license reinstatement later, Maybe court ordered AA and of course his insurance will go through the roof.

Later even if you just went out and had 3 glasses of wine at dinner he could get pulled over again. Then it would be a second DUI which would destroy your families finances. If he has had one before this one and gets another then we are talking a ten year suspension.

Let him sit if the judge will not grant bail or sets it super high. The money that you or his parents may have used to get him out can be used for a lawyer. If he has time served already in jail then a lawyer might be able to do something for him.

You are not being harsh. You need to think long term for everybody….. especially your child.
