If he is in for a minor traffic violation, not a OWI or a Hit & Run etc., then without spending the money, it would be best for him to stay. Not to say he deserves it. But because minor offenses, they only have to stay until they meet with the Magistrate. It may only be one day that he is in there it could be two.

Unless he is there over the weekend, I doubt very much that he would be locked up for more than 3 days.

Bail Bonds are not illegal in Illinois

My suggestion would be to have the wife call the cook county courthouse and get the info on the violation. Bail bonds are not illiegal in Illinois. If they are asking $2500.00, usually they are looking for 10% of that bond=$250.00.
The only thing illegal in Illinois is bounty hunting for felons. If they are asking for the $2500.00, then the bond would be $25,000.00 and that is a high amount for a traffic violation. Unless it serious.

I think that because of this you may be out the $2500. Keep in mind that you will recieve the money back when he shows up for his court date.
