Nice kid you got. . .
The bond is supposed to guarantee your daughter’s appearance. She did not show, the bond, put up by the bail company, was forfeited to the court. You signed a contract with the bail company promising to repay them if your daughter did not show. Somewhere in that contact was permission for them to seize some of your property.
Although a lot of these bail companies walk the ragged edge of legality, they are smart enough to have you sign your life away to get that bail money.
Next time, let your daughter cook her heels in a cell.
Old Fuzz is correct.
You signed it away. Thank your daughter.
If you put up your car for collateral, that is basically whats going to happen if your daughter doesn’t go to court. If your daughter had turned herself in or got re-arrested by the bondsman, than usually you would get your car back, unless they already sold it, than usually you would get the majority of the money, minus the fees that they would charge for having to go and re-arrest her and other expenses.
