My boyfriends bail is $10,000.00, 10% which makes it $1,000.00. I dont understand how a bailsman works, and is there a difference if its just a cash bonds, than a cash-surity bond?

What is the point of a bail bond for a serious crime, when this gives the culprit a chance to get away, also his victims or their family are not compensated for his dirty duty?

I bailed my step-sister out of jail two months ago, (Bad Check), she went to court on the 20th of this month, I put up the $500 for her bail, and now I am wondering if i will or how soon I will get my money back, I live in IN, but I she was charged in KY. Will I get the money, or will the court give it to her. I paid cash and did not go through a bail bonds person. She did show up for court and was sentenced to probation, and her charge was dropped from a felony charge to a misdemenor, because of the good lawyer I hired. I know I won’t get that back, I was just wondering about the bail money. I am not familar with how this works. Just letting you all know all the details to get a more correct answer, sorry for the rambling.
