I was told at the time that I signed his bail bond that I was only responsible for making sure that he shows up for his court date. He was later arrested in another case and is still in jail waiting for his court date. How can the bail bonding company take me to court and sue me for failing to pay his fines?

My friend was arrested on some pretty hefty charges. Family has enough money to bond him out but does not have collateral such as, a house or anything or that sort, to secure the rest. Are there bail bond companies that put up collateral for you in situations like this?

Just to let you know….this is not a simple crime that came with a simple bond. It is a serious charge that requires a lot in bond. Therefore, collateral is required. Collateral such as a property is what I’m talking about here. The family does not own property. Just regular working class people that work to pay bills. Do you think there are any bail bond companies that put up collateral for you in situations like this?

ok so the warrant for my arrest just came in and i’m scheduled to go in in the morning for the pics and such. my bail is set at $850.00 which probably doesn’t seem like that much to most of you but for me it is. i literally have 73 cents in my pocket. The only thing i own is my car so is it possible to put the title for my car as collateral, all the bail bonds people around here require 10% which is $85 and a service fee of $75 so thats $160.00 right. so ????

I couldn’t think of anyone or even several countries combined could actually pay that much without hurting their own economy - even the wealthiest wall street bankers themselves can’t pay for it - that’s why they are begging for the bail-out.

So, who would be interested at buying it? Would you buy it? Wall street may not even pay you back in your life time. (Or, probably sometime down the road calling for another 700 billion bail-out to pay you back.) At what interest rate would you like to buy such a bond?

I’m not sure how that works. Enlighten me.
