not show up for court on the day that she’s scheduled!
In most states, the only way a bail bond can be forfeited to the court is if the person that is out on bond fails to show up for court on thier scheduled date, leaves the state, etc.. if they are arrested for another crime, and are placed back into jail, then the only thing you will lose is the fees for the first bond
Unless you live in Hawaii, and the DOG is after you ![]()
She has to follow the rules given to her. She cannot leave the city of state, depending on what she’s told.
Bail is just to get her out and ensure she is going to show up for court. As long as she shows up for court and keeps her nose clean until then, you won’t lose your house. If she doesn’t show up for court .. say bye bye to your home.
Example: If she gets a speeding ticket, you won’t lose your house…she’ll just end up back in jail (if that’s why she ended up there in the first place) and will have to sit there for a while.
she will lose her bond if she skips and does not show up for court…if her bail is 100,000 and you bond her at 10% ($10,000)….and you are using your house as collateral…she skips town or is in jail or just does not show for court….
1. their is an immediate warrant issued for her and,
2. you may lose your home….
think about this before you do it….you did not specify what she was in jail for…..I was told by a bail bondsman not to ever do this if the charge is drug related…cause you can NEVER trust a druggie….
if she gets ticket…you you lose you house…? no, only if she does not make her court appearance.
good luck
If she misses court, the court will issue a Conditional Forfeiture, giving the Defendant and the Surety (Bonding Co.) 28 days to locate the defendnat and return her to custody, or in cases where there is an acceptable excuse for thr FTA (when the defendnat is in custody elsaewhere, deceased, or under a doctors care and cannot meet court). If the 28 day “conditional” period expires, and she is not located and returned to custody, or no written excuse has been filed with the court, then the bond forfeiture goes “Final Forfeiture” and must be paid. Most Bonding companies are not going to take your house as long as you can pay the forfeiture amount. Thay can still try and locate her and return her to custody. Losing your house would be the extreme.
