I dont exactly understand your question completely. I dont think anyone should have to wait in jail until their court date, b/c sometimes that could be as long as 2 years. That would mean people are really guilty until proven otherwise, which is against the constitution. As far as bail & bonds, I have a friend that owns a bonding company. He does a good bit of boding, yet he is not rich at all. If you fail to show up for court, he is then responsible to find you and/or pay the full amount of your bail. I dont think this is necessarily “unfair” to poor people. If they commit a crime, then they should have to pay for it no matter what the income. I do know that if money is an issue, my friend has worked out deals with people, even bailed them out for no money up front in cases where the person locked up was the only source of income for a family.
